04:58 – Pinterest – 70% of users are women on Pinterest  & 30% are men currently, experiencing growth in men. Think about your target market and buying power.

Women are using it for home improvement decisions, for example.

  • Definitely a brand awareness platform where you get a lot of impressions reach, you can reach a lot of people with your product through Pinterest.
  • Create a lot of engagements, but does not create likes

  • Is how many times your brand shows up in front of people.

09:16 – Example of a jewelry company Pinterest impressions, who had typically done magazine advertising. Pinterest impressions, 673.500 in one month in September, up from 750 a year ago.

  • Is a completely keyword driven
  • Not a hashtag friendly
  • Narrow down with your keywords and they’re gonna put it into the right categories
  • Long-tail words, more specific you can be, more likely you will be found

15:07 – It does create a lot engagements, does not create a lot of likes for instance!

16:18 – How does traffic engagement work for Pinterest?

  • People are either liking or they are sharing it over to their boards and saving it on to their board.
  • You can see which Pins have gotten the most views, clicks and saves on analytics.

  • You’ve got to have different conversations and different types of content that really gonna drive that awareness.
  • 15-20 pins a day, your own and shareable content from others
  • Sharing other people’s content is acceptable and
  • Create your own content using graphics, infographics work well, contests-most interaction.
  • It’s not always about your own brand content, sharing other people’s content is normal and helpful to you and others
  • Side note: Instagram is very different–the content is always yours

20:33 – It’s super important to share your own content with the links back to your site, which is making sure that it drives traffic back to your site. Pinterest is tops in referring back to the site, higher than Twitter and Instagram. It is Pinterest Power!

23:51 – You can pin your Youtube videos from Youtube and drive the traffic to your channel

24:50 Infographics are highly shared content

25:27 – Tailwind App – Schedule Pins, Discover Content, Monitor Pinterest, and Measure Results.

  • Tailwind App is  for Pinterest, Instagram may be in the works
  • They have a scheduler that finds best times, days, etc.
  • You can pin out to multiple boards and schedule it out and split by three days so you can do one post.

  • Create 10 different boards that would interest your audience, plus, a couple very specific to your product
