About Tom Lawrence: 

Tom Lawrence is the founder and president of Lawrence Technology Services, a full service IT firm that specializes in project management, systems integrations and upgrades, internet and phone communication solutions, firewall, VPN and other remote access, installation for voice, video, and data, whole office and public building WiFi access, and backup system and disaster recovery planning. What started out as a small business designed to help other small businesses solve their IT needs has now grown to service businesses of all sizes. For the past 13 years, Lawrence Technology Services has expanded to include a retail store, web development and social media marketing, IT consulting, and structured cabling for enterprises of all sizes.

With over 21 years in the business, Tom has developed an expertise that has allowed him to add value to virtually any setting.  After working in various technology related roles in corporate America, he launched Lawrence Technology Services to fill a need in the market. His passion for technology, computers, and engineering is prevalent in everything he does. Since 2008, he has been invited to share his expertise on a number of topics including open source software, social media marketing, SEM, Google, PFSense, and Linux Operating Systems. He has sat on panels, delivered keynote speeches, and led small group discussions at the Walsh College Open Source Group, Grow Your Business Workshops, and a number of regional chambers, local Rotaries, universities, and private groups.  His podcast, Sunday Morning Linux Review, has over 14,000 downloads per month and his YouTube page gains new subscribers daily.

Tom has been recognized by his peers for his accomplishments. He is a graduate of Goldman Sachs’ 10,000 Small Businesses program and recently won Company of the Year from the Southern Wayne County Chamber of Commerce. He has successfully bought and sold companies, worked on two pending patents and two National Science Foundation proposals, and designed and executed solar energy projects well before the explosion of green technology. Although Tom has accomplished a lot throughout his career, he takes the most pride in being able to use his innovative approach to problem-solving to meet the IT needs of his customers. He has focused on making IT more personable while delivering fast, efficient, and quality service. His clients include Detroit City Football Club, Southfield Chrysler, Novi Cadillac, CMAC Transport, and a slew of small businesses that are often overlooked by larger IT firms. He looks forward to sharing his expertise, knowledge, and vision for the future of IT with anyone willing to listen.

Great Tips in doing Videos!

Sets a bear on top of the video, because he talks to the bear on the camera because he can’t see the camera and he feels like he’s talking to someone there.  Another person said they click on a picture of their friends that they are talking to whichever friend.  It’s like you’re telling that person the story and it helps you get the story out.   If you mess up don’t start over, because then you want to start over and over the whole thing. No need to, today, the video editing software is getting easier and easier.
