Time Stamped Show Notes:

03:01 – Chris said that ” Social media to me has always been a tool to reach people.!”

03:35 – How do Chris Brogan handle with their emails & newsletters

  • His kids always know that Sunday morning is going to be a little bit of split attention because that’s when he gets his newsletter out and he get a lot of the responses right away, which he responds to himself.
  • Every single day he’s getting between 200 to 600 emails to respond to personally.
  • If you give a minute to each of the emails, that’s 10 hours

05:36 – A word form Chris…”The people with the money are the people who don’t want to feel like they’re not seen!

Like the companies they just want more people to see them, we all want to be loved for what we sell, we want more people to love the things that we do! How buyers fit into the business’ world.

07:41 – Emails are still useful, because of our browsing society…flipping through content on Facebook, etc. They are attention assets.

  • Business-wise/sales wise – You can spend as much on Facebook ads as you want, but, you’re trying to put them to a sales page or a landing page, that’s great if they’re ready to buy.  If they’re not, my newsletter is growth until they’re ready to buy.
  • Terry finds the newsletters beneficial and forward them frequently because they have valuable content others will enjoy.

9:00-Chris is sought after by many large companies for his insights. Chris’ daily consulting fees can range between $15,000 to $25,000 per day.  He gives very similar information for $100 a month to his subscribers in a different format.

11:27 – Chris on how to decide on this route

A book called “The Automatic Customer ”  from John Warrillow – is about membership type stuff,  monthly recurring revenues-box of the month clubs, you know all of those kinds of things, which is a predictable form of income, rather than lunch n learn formats and online courses.  People believe they don’t have any time anymore, so private community groups are doing better with …oh by the way..we do these courses.

13:32 – Jon Loomer is teaching this too now. His courses don’t sell the same as they used to do.  People want their hand held a little more and they want that accountability.

People buy and think they are so busy to do the course.

14:40 – How did he meet his business partner Rob Hatch

  • Rob Hatch is the President and co-founder of Owner Media Group Inc.
  • He is the author of three courses, including one of our most popular course on productivity, Work Like You’re On Vacation. He is also an executive coach and speaker.
  • Rob writes a weekly newsletter on the topics of productivity, personal management and success.
*Chris & Rob knew each other when they were fourteen. Chris needed some help and was originally looking to hire Rob’s wife.
  • He came and started running the business with Chris and they have a very different disciplines and styles
  • Rob is a very patient person, he’s a coach kind of a person and Chris is more of an advisor kind of a person

17:05 – Chris said..”I am the most successful person in the world at guarding my time and living my life my way.”!

  • In some months, you hit or miss revenue, no one ever talks about it. If you’re a real entrepreneur, then you lose it all a bunch of times on the way and you worry about the mortgage payment.
  • Chris wrote the books called ” The Freaks Shall Inherit the Earth. The two whole chapters dedicated success because Chris think that people don’t learn how to define success the right way!”

Chris said that his definition of success is being able to say no to the things I don’t want to do.!

It’s important that people know that outlook because a lot of times people think they’re beating themselves up saying they’re not successful. But, every time someone says you’re busy, I always say I’m never busy , I’m blessed.!

21:24 – Chris stressed…I’m never busy I’m blessed!

Stop telling people you’re busy, because nobody wants to deal with busy people because how you gonna get anything done.

22:41 – Difference between Expensive problems and Cheap problems

The only difference between expensive problems and cheap problems is knowing to charge what you’re worth and knowing how to be bold enough to really state an opinion that’s not everyone else’s opinion.

23:33 – Chris Brogan explains why he was anti live broadcasting

People tend to want to watch things on their time, not necessarily in real time.

25:37 – Chris always wonders why people think Facebook is their homepage!

He said, ” It’s like going into a hotel room, sticking a lava lamp on the desktop, nice oriental rug, and a couple of definitely posters and thinking you’re in your house,  it’s not that way.!

26:19 – Chris Brogan’s program called “Owner Insider”

Owner insider it talks about how to finally get started, the whole basic idea is that we help with clarity, plus action, plus community. They are real basics of it, just not out here to sell ads so I can just close the page.

What we really think that people get stuck on is that they’re stuck on the simplest things and they’re stuck on the if only’s and that I must not know enough, They think,  I’m not ready to launch because is about their business in any form or they have a business running and it’s just not running the way they want it to, we work on that.
