02:34 – 2016 Predictions

Talked about predictions that were made in 2016 to see whether or not they came true, here are the interesting list to look at:

#01- Increase in Video Ads

#02-Wearables

#03-Influencer Marketing

#04- Mobile Domini Desktop

#05-Big Data

#06-Rise of the Digital Assistants

#07-Virtual Reality

#08 -Ephemeral marketing

#09-IOT (Internet of Things)

#10-Digital Advertising Costs

#11- Rise of Vertical Communities

03:54 – Increase in Video Ads

  • Definitely it went up, obviously video ads have become really hot because of the show  that we talked about facebook video and how the remarketing works.
  • Facebook is advertising Facebook live on television – Facebook spending money on TV to tell you to video

05:58 – Wearables

Smart watches or Google Glass

Fitness wearables, such as Fitbit

07:56 – Influencer Marketing

Not even a term three years ago.

Definitely went up, because it’s a big deal.  People are just sent stuff from companies that they want influencers want to test and talk about, blog about it as well.

*How do you become an influencer?

There are certain people that are famous and they become an influencer because they are famous. But then are others who became famous with Snapchat or YouTube, for example

If your company needs to find an influencer, we will be working with some clients this year at finding some of those influencers to help those companies show their products.

09:35 – Mobile Dominates Desktop

2010 was the first year that they made more phones that had computer keyboards than actual telephone keypads, maybe 2011m but that was the first year that that happened and that’s not gonna change.

Mobile performs better than desktop in marketing .

12:20 – Big Data

  • Definitely went up, big data in business intelligence are two words that are almost used synonymously
  • Big data is looking at all the analytics that you’re getting so you can target and do better marketing

13:55 – Rise of the Digital Assistants

  • A lot more people and even companies are embracing the fact that people to get a lot done from home
  • Digital assistants are filling the need for helping get things done while working remotely.

16:00 – Virtual Reality

2016 was known as the year of virtual reality and definitely going up

The technology has caught up in the depth of the clarity of pictures and photos it’s done.

18:21 – Ephemeral marketing, momentary marketing

We talked about this because we didn’t know what it was already know what the answer is but I’ve been surprised me a little bit.

The greatest instance of the Ephemeral marketing was snapchat which is the definition of it.

20:17 – IOT (Internet of Things)

Yes, it didn’t grow as much as we thought, basically is all the connected devices.

If you have a smart refrigerator in your house with the whole Nest thing that controls the air-conditioning, internet of things, as it could possibly get anything that you can control over the web even recording television, setting your DVR through your phone.

21:28 – Digital Advertising Costs Increase

Yes they did,  the costs to do Facebook ads were pennies in the past, they’re still low, but  you’re not going to get away with the little ad spend you had years ago. .

Not only is the price per use going up but the amount of users that are using it is going up.

Digital advertising has surpassed TV

If you don’t do Facebook ads as a business, your failing in your business moving into 2017, plus other avenues in digital

23:54 – Rise of Vertical Communities

It’s a group on Facebook and so the vertical could be industry-specific, it could be geographically specific.  So example, Motor City Connect, the group Terry has around in Detroit is a great example of a vertical community because we’ve all got some affinity for one thing and that’s we live in the Detroit area.

People are looking for kinship and tribes. Vertical groups are tending to bring communities of similar interests together easier than has been possible in the past.

….So did that grow in 2016?

These list is an interesting list to look at and see what we have in the future for 2017 to think about this list and what it has down and what they can do and change for 2017 for their marketing.
